The UN-brokered Yemen peace talks collapsed, as the government-in-exile blamed the Shia rebels, known as Houthis, for refusing the meet them in person.

On Friday, Foreign Minister of Yemen Riad Yassin told Al Jazeera that his delegation plans to leave the negotiations, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, and return to Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Saudi Arabia, backs the government of Yemen and together with other Arab states, launched an airstrike campaign in Yemen to fight the Houthis.
