Responding to members of the European Parliament, European Commission President, Jose Manuel Barroso, has reiterated that the new Maltese Commissioner will be the one to take the Tobacco Products Directive forward. While the President confirms that he is in discussion with Vice-President Sefcovic, who has taken over former Commissioner John Dalli's portfolio temporarily, about how to proceed, Barroso confirms that no action will be taken until the new Maltese Commissioner takes over.
