Vatican to decide whether women can become deacons

Should women be allowed to become deacons (one rank below a priest) in the Catholic Church? This is a question that is currently be studied by the Vatican.

As reported by NBC News, Pope Francis has established a commission to examine the possibility. It represents a potentially historic shift towards a more active role for women in the church.
