US Senate passes bill on online sales tax

The Act now has to convince now the House of Representatives


The US Senate has approved a bill that will give states the power to enforce their sales tax laws on online purchases, but the legislation has to face now opposition at the House of Representatives, controlled by the Republicans.

The Democratic-controlled Senate passed the bill by a vote of 69 to 27, and got support from both sides. However the bill will need to convince members of the House about its benefits.
