On the same day that British Prime Minister Theresa May triggered Brexit, the President of European Council Donald Tusk issued a rather pompous statement.
Referring to the negotiations between the EU and the UK, Tusk said that “in these negotiations the Union will act as one and preserve its interests”.
It is a nice declaration – one that shows the high level of optimism that EU leaders have for the future of our common House.
Of course, it would be nicer if it were true!
