Delegates to the UN Environmental Program‘s Governing Council and Global Ministerial Forum (GC-GMF), held in Nairobi, Kenya, were treated to a special feast; food wasted by UK supermarket‘s demands.
Campaigners say that 40 tonnes of food is lost every week in Kenya alone because of their appearence not meeting standards set by supermarkets. This includes one anonymous farmer having to dump a crop because his French beans were deemed to be “too fat.”
