Two more boats sink in the Agean: 44 victims and counting


44 people have drowned after their two boats sank off the Greek islands of Farmakonisi and Kalolimnos on Friday, close to the Turkish coast; among the victims there were at least eight children. That is in addition to the 12 migrants recovered dead yesterday from a similar boat accident.

48 survivors in Farmakonisi and 26 survivors in Kalimnos have been collected. The search of the Greek coastguard is ongoing with help from a Frontex helicopter. Most of them are reportedly Syrian, escaping th...
