Turkey has denied claims it is acting illegally by drilling for gas in waters off Cyprus with Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu saying on 14 July his country would continue to drill off the island if the internationally recognised Greek Cypriot government does not accept a cooperation proposal put forward by Turkish Cypriots.
