Turkey deported 40 Holstein cows in retribution for the Dutch denial of landing to foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Saturday.

The civic diplomacy initiative was taken by the Turkey’s Association of Red Meat Producers. The 40 Dutch cows are in a truck and on their way to the Netherlands.

The President of the organization, Belent Tunc, told Hurriyet Daily News that if the Dutch does not take the cows back, they will slaughter them and distribute the cuts to the poor.
