Opponents argue that arming Ukraine risks escalating the conflict while supporters say better weapons would act as a deterrence to Russian aggression and give a psychological and political boost to Kiev. The debate comes as Trump's new envoy on Ukraine, Kurt Volker, is to visit Russia soon.
