European Union lawmakers on April 25 signalled their willingness to boost transatlantic relations without compromising the 27-country bloc’s independence. Ahead of the EU-US summit in Washington DC on April 30, the Parliament adopted a resolution on April 25 on transatlantic relations calling for, among other things, lifting of visas for all EU citizens visiting the US, the need for balanced economic and trade ties, fighting terrorism while respecting human rights, and protecting the environment...
