Russia’s president Dmitry Medvedev held, on 24 August, talks with the Kim Jong Il, the leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Kim Jong II. The six-nation nuclear talks and energy were the top subjects on the summit’s agenda. Speaking after the summit, President Medvedev told journalists that the two countries decided to establish a special commission on the transit of Russian gas via North Korea to South Korea.
