Poland’s pension system has seen some major changes being made since the reforms in 1999, which was the catalyst for a modern pillar system being implemented in its social insurance provision.
Those who were born after 31 December, 1948 but before 1 January, 1969, had a choice to continue to contribute in the pay-as-you-go first pillar scheme they were already in, or change to the new pay-as -you -go first pillar pension.
