A memo from a private meeting of EU officials in Strasbourg that was leaked to the German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung last week has provoked a new confrontation.
According to the memo, EU member states that do not belong to the eurozone will be forced to adopt the single currency by 2025.
This includes a mosaic of economies. While some of them are successful (thanks to their own national currencies), others are the poorest in Europe.
