How litigation maybe leading the EU to adopt Russian-type solutions that will devolve data storage


Last week, Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, who heads a working group of 28 European EU-member states data protection regulators, called on US-based technology firms to limit transfers of Europeans’ personal data to the United States.

The EU no longer trusts that Europeans’ personal data are adequately protected in the United States. The working group has set a January deadline for the EU and the US to come up with an agreement on data sharing. What happened?
