Tajani in live broadcast from European Parliament says two to four dead, terrorism

Speaking to Parliamentarians stuck in the European Parliament on a live broadcast on Twitter at approximately 1:40am, President Antonio Tajani spoke of “two or probably four” deaths, and referred to the gunman as a terrorist in relation to the attack earlier in the Strasbourg Christmas market.
Tajani told Members of the European Parliament that those who live outside the city centre are free to take a taxi and go their at their own risk. Those in hotels at the centre will be relocated. President Tajani said, “The centre is not safe,” and explained those who would need to travel into the centre would be doing so with a police escort.  Tajani was then asked about the many staff stuck on the premises, but the video recording was terminated.
MEPs had earlier been requested to go to the Hemicycle to be briefed. In the same message, staff were told that they would be informed at a later stage.
