With regard to the ongoing inter-institutional negotiations about the future set-up of the European Commission, S&D leader Udo Bullmann stated that political groups were not officially informed about the meeting of the President of the European Council Donald Tusk and the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani.
“The meeting between Tajani and Tusk can only be considered an internal and unofficial gathering of EPP representatives.”, he concluded, and added: “We reaffirm last week’s statement that the European Parliament has to remain at the center of all decisions to select the next President of the European Commission”.
