Swedish Parliament approves deeper cooperation with NATO

The Swedish Parliament rejected a proposition submitted by the Left Party, asking for the delay of the HNSA vote.

The Swedish Parliament approved the Host Nation Support Agreement (HNSA) on Wednesday, allowing the deployment of NATO forces in the country but only after invitation of the Swedish government.

The Local Sweden reported that the Left Party tried to delay the HNSA vote for a year, saying that the deal threatens fundamental rights and freedoms deriving from the Swedish constitution.
