An ammonium nitrate-based fertiliser that is widely used by farmers is reportedly being transported across Turkey’s border to Syria where Islamic State militants are using it to make powerful explosives.
Turkey’s English language Hurriyet Daily News reported that bags of this fertiliser are being loaded onto carts in the southern Turkish town of Akçakale and wheeled over the border into Syria.
