Slovenia sells its national airliner


Slovenia’s Adria Airways was acquired by a German fund. Established in 1961, Adria is Slovenia’s national airliner.

The company was several years in the red, recording a €921,000 profit in 2014, but returning to a €5mn deficit in 2015. As many national airliners, the company was faced with the prospect of bankruptcy.

Adria Airways is based in Ljubljana’s Joze Pucnik Airport and serves 20 European destinations, including London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Zurich, Munich, Malmo, Copenha...
