An annual Global Competitiveness Report has ranked Singapore as the second-most competitive economy in the world (behind Switzerland), despite concerns over rising business costs, tighter labour policies and slowing growth.
The report, which is in its fifth year, was compiled by the World Economic Forum (WEF). The ranking includes 140 economies and is one of the most comprehensive assessments of its kind.
