The latest victim seems to be the Chair of the ALDE Group in the European Parliament, Guy Verhofstadt. The outspoken leader of ALDE has been appointed as lead Brexit negotiator for the European Parliament.

Verhofstadt gets the media spotlight for Brexit (which is going to remain a no-essence circus until Article 50 is trigerred), and Schulz gets the support of ALDE to remain in his seat for yet another term.
