Russia Pushes Tesla Pipeline Through Balkans

Gazprom has repeatedly said that European customers who want to receive Russian gas supplies will have to build their own infrastructure from Turkey but the Russian giant is recently showing signs of compromise.

The foreign ministers of Greece, Serbia, Hungary and FYROM are reportedly expected to sign next month a memorandum on the construction of the Tesla pipeline, which should connect the Turkish Stream pipeline with Austria.

The Tesla pipeline - named after Serbian-American engineer and inventor Nikola Tesla - is a continuation of the controversial Gazprom-backed Turkish Stream. It is planned to cross through Greece, FYROM, Serbia and Hungary, and then reach the gas hub Baumgarten in Vienna.
