Rio mayor blasts State government over security


With a month before the opening ceremony, Rio de Janeiro is still experiencing turbulent times. The mayor of the city, Eduardo Paes, blamed the state administration for some of the main unresolved issues ahead of the games.

Paes openly accused the State government of failing to make the city more secure. Instead, there have been more and more violent attacks throughout the city, with a violent gunfight following the escape of a drug lord from a hospital and an assault over an Australian Paral...
