The volume of retail trade has fallen by 0.1% for the Euroarea, and by 0.2% for the whole of the EU for March this year, in comparison to the previous month according to Eurostat figures.
When compared to March a year ago the fall in trade was worse, as sales have been reduced by 2.4% in the Euroarea, with the EU faring slightly better falling by 1.6%.
