TNK-BP is proposing to set up a consortium to develop Achimov deposits at the Urengoi field, TNK-BP Executive Director for Gas Projects Victor Vekselberg said. He noted that it is proposed to set up the consortium with the participation of all companies that hold licenses to develop sections of Achimov deposits at the Urengoi field, including TNK-BP’s wholly owned subsidiary Rospan International, YUKOS subsidiary Arcticgaz and also Achimgaz – a joint venture between Gazprom and Wintershall. He said that a working group on this issue was set up a year ago. Regarding the development of the deposits belonging to Rospan, Vekselberg said that Rospan is currently producing 2.5 billion cubic metres of gas, but has the potential to reach 15 bcm – 17 billion cubic metres per year. He said that as the main deposits at Rospan fields contain gas condensate, the company is considering building a condensate pipeline to the north coast. Vekselberg said that TNK-BP would inevitably develop the Rospan deposits together with Gazprom.
