Pope Francis has called upon on every European church parish and religious community to take in one refugee family.
In front of a crowd of thousands of people in St Peter's Square on Sunday he said that "such gesture of solidarity would start in the tiny Vatican state where he lives" and announced that a family of refugees will be taken in by two Vatican's parishes every day.
