The Italian police uncovered a huge weapons haul that included an air-to-air missile, machine guns and rocket launchers that belonged to a far-right group.

Three arrests were made, including the 50-year-old former customs fraud inspector Fabio Del Bergiolo, a former candidate for the Senate of the far-right group Forza Nuova (FN), in whose house the missile, the scorpion machine guns, firearms, bayonets, and bullets were found.

The police also uncovered Neo-Nazi propaganda material.

Besides Del Bergiolo, the police arrested a 42-year-old Swiss national and a 51-year-old Italian. The group of three were arrested as part of a probe into Italian extremists who have known to fight side-by-side Russian rebels in Ukraine.

The operation was coordinated from Turin and involved operations in Milan, Forli, Novara, and Varese. The police believe that the group marketed the arsenal rather than intending to use them for terrorist activity. Forza Nuova has denied any responsibility for De Bergiolo’s activity.
