The deterioration of the migrant crisis in Italy has once again revealed the European Union’s glaring weaknesses.
One more time, after Greece’s refugee crisis in 2015, the EU appears bitterly surprised by the events. Brussels does not seem to be alarmed by the fact that thousands of migrants between Libya and Italy suffer in slavery-like conditions, and many have died, while the influx doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
