Parliament wants stricter controls on mercury


The European Parliament’s Environment Committee on May 3 adopted a report calling for a ban on exports and imports of mercury from July 1, 2010 and for stricter rules on storage.In March, 2006, Parliament adopted a resolution on the general strategy for mercury proposed by the European Commission.
