A US Special Court announced its decision on Thursday


The 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled that NSA’s massive collection of phone records is illegal.

According to the Court, the telephone metadata collection program, is not in line with the Patriot Act, approved by the Congress. The laws used as a justification for the collection of the phone records, “have never been interpreted to authorise anything approaching the breadth of the sweeping surveillance at issue here,” the court stressed.
