Nigeria’s state-owned oil firm, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, has announced plans to deploy drones to monitor ships at sea in an effort to end oil theft.
As reported by the BBC, Nigeria’s newly elected president, Muhammadu Buhari, promised to clean up the industry. Senior politicians and military officers are said to be involved in the illegal trade.
