New Head of Representation and an Adviser for Croatia’s EU Presidency

Following the successful ratification of its European Union Accession Treaty by the national parliaments of the 27 Member States, the Republic of Croatia has joined the EU as the 28th member on 01 July 2013.

The European Commission appointed on 25 June Ognian Zlatev, Bulgarian national, as the new Head of the Commission’s Representation in Zagreb, Croatia.
He will take up his duties on 1 July, succeeding Branko Baričević, who is also being appointed as an Adviser to President Juncker for the preparation of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2020.
Baričević had previously served as the Head of Mission of Croatia to the European Union in Brussels.
