NATO has announced that British-born Bryan Wells will serve as the alliance's new Chief Scientist, a position that makes him the alliance's senior scientific advisor, as well as the chairman of the NATO Science and Technology Board - roles that are considered essential to support the Alliance in maintaining its Science & Technology edge.

Wells previously served as the UK Defence Ministry's head of Science and Technology Policy and Strategic Research and International Engagement.
