Ahead of a June meeting of NATO’s defence ministers, the alliance’s military chiefs of staff, along with recent invitee North Macedonia, met to discuss NATO’s new military strategy and the development of the alliance’s deterrence and defence posture.

The discussion focused on the key strategic issues facing the Alliance and NATO’s new Military Strategy for adapting to current security challenges was signed. The Western military chiefs also discussed the current security situation in Ukraine and ongoing challenges in the Black Sea region, as well as prospects for capacity building in the Middle East and North Africa.
