Nations ready to move beyond Congressional sanctions against Iran

Wittig defended the form of the current nuclear talks and stressed that alternative approaches to curb Iran’s nuclear program are “not very attractive.”

German Ambassador to US, Peter Wittig, said that most probably Congress will impose sanctions against Iran


The same day the US Senate approved the Congressional review of a possible Iranian nuclear deal, German Ambassador to US, Peter Wittig, said that many countries are not willing to impose more sanctions against Iran.

The decision by the US Senate allows Congress, to review, and potentially reject, an international nuclear agreement with Iran. Moreover, the US institution will be able to uphold the US sanctions and impose even more, regardless of an international agreement or not.
