More migrants saved near Lesvos which struggles to accommodate the people in need


Even though the migrants and refugees were transported into safety to Lesvos, the situation in the Northern eastern Greek island is tense.

The boat carrying the migrants was sinking because it was overcrowded, and 26 migrants were collected by the Greek Coast Guard and another 35 by a commercial passenger ship.

The Greek coast guard and a Greek passenger ship rescued 61 migrants, as their rubber boat was at risk of sinking off the island of Lesvos, Greece.

The Blue Star 1 took 35 of the survivors aboard and the Greek coast guard carried the rest of the migrants with safety on the port of Lesvos.
