Mogherini meets with the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration

European Union Foreign Policy High Representative Federica Mogherini gives a press conference after the European Foreign Affairs Council meeting, in Brussels, Belgium, 18 February 2019. The Foreign Ministers were to discuss international issues such as the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria and the Horn of Africa, but also European matters such as the situation in Ukraine or the Prespa agreement on the name change of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, now called Republic of North Macedonia.

In the wake of the annual EU- International Organisation for Migration Senior Officials meeting on 4 June, EU Foreign Affairs chief Federica Mogherini met with Director-General of the IOM António Vitorino, where they reaffirmed the close cooperation between the EU and the IOM on migration matters, and the key role of IOM in shaping a UN response to migratory challenges.
The ongoing situation in Libya was also discussed, as well as the situation in Venezuela and Yemen.
