On 9 July, the Industry Committee voted in favour of on a non-binding resolution which called to end mobile phone roaming charges by 2015 within the EU.
According to MEPs, roaming fees for making mobile phone calls, sending SMS or downloading data from other countries must end within two years. "Unbalanced profit margins on roaming" are generating excessive costs for users, as well as slowing down growth and prosperity in Europe.
