The European Parliament has called for improved coordination between the European Commission and national energy policies in order to ensure the bloc’s renewable energy target – 20% of total consumption by 2020 – is achieved by all member states.
Although the target has been hit by many EU members, others still lag behind. This is why the MEPs adopted a resolution on June 23 to call for faster implementation of EU legislation.
