The European Parliament has again condemned the conviction of the former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko as a violation of human rights and an abuse of the judiciary for political purposes. MEPs stated in their resolution that the persecution of Tymoshenko was designed to silence Ukraine's leading opposition politician.
