A French official said on Monday the suspected mastermind of the deadly attacks in Paris has been identified as Belgian-born Abdelhamid Abaaoud, The Associated Press reports. Abaaoud is understood to be in Syria. He is believed to be linked to a thwarted attack on Paris-bound Thalys high-speed train and a Paris area church. The French official was not authorised to be publically identified, as he is speaking about an ongoing investigation.
