Malaysia battles terrorism through education

The Malaysian Police and security agencies will be in charge of educating children about the dangers of joining the Islamic State (ISIS).

Long depicted as an oasis of moderate Islam, Malaysia is alarmed by the number of young people that answer the call to jihad.

As a preventive measure to counter Islamic terrorism, the deputy education minister, Chong Sin Woon, said the police and other security agencies will hold briefings for school children this year to "create awareness among students on the dangers of Islamic State terrorists."
