A powerful earthquake hit northeastern Afghanistan on Monday, killing over 200 people, with tremors felt as far away as Pakistan’s capital Islamabad and India’s capital New Delhi.
At least 12 school girls were killed in stampede as they tried to get out of their building in Taloqan, just west of Badakhshan province.
According to the reports, in Pakistan's Khyber Province alone, authorities said at least 179 people were known to have died.
