The continued deployment of the Kenya Defence Forces to Somalia is backed by 57% of Kenyans, according to the findings of a new public opinion survey.

The IPSOS survey also found that 70% of those who said they want the Kenya Defence Forces to remain in Somalia are Jubilee coalition supporters while 39% are aligned with the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).

As reported by the online news site All Africa, Kenya defence forces under the African Union Mission in Somalia have played a big role in preventing terror attacks in the country (even though 70% of Kenyans say terrorism remains a major threat).
