ASTANA – Kazakhstan has launched two renewable power projects in the country - the Burnoye Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 100 MW in the country's southern Zhambyl region and the first stage of the wind power station in the Tupkaragan district of the Mangystau region western Kazakhstan.

Burnoye uses an environmentally friendly method of generating electricity that is able to provide electricity to about 40,000 houses. The wind power facility has a capacity of 43.6 MW.
