Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belgium Aigul Kuspan plans to discuss Presidential elections in her country in Brussels on 14 May at the Press Club Brussels Europe.
The Central Electoral Commission of Kazakhstan closed nominations on 28 April for the 9 June Presidential election. As of 9 May, there are seven candidates running for the elections who meet the requirements according to the Constitution of Kazakhstan. The candidates’ registration stage will continue until 11 May, the Kazakh embassy in Belgium said.
The seven candidates who will compete for Kazakhstan presidency: Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, Amangeldy Taspihov, Amirzhan Kosanov, Danya Yespayeva, Sadibek Tugel, Zhambyl Akhmetbekov and Toleutai Rakhimbekov.
The extraordinary presidential elections will be held in Kazakhstan on 9 June. After passing the exam for fluency in the state language, each candidate had to collect at least 118,140 authentic voter signatures. The campaign of candidates starts on 11 May at 18:00.
The CEC may cancel the registration of a candidate if the state revenue bodies discover that the information on income and property in the submitted declarations is unreliable. The pre-election campaign will begin immediately after the end of the registration stage and will last until 00.00 on 8 June. Day of Silence will be 8 June.
