A majority of Finnish parliamentarians signed an initiative over the Christmas holidays calling for the introduction of tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students.
This proposal aims to integrate international students residing in Finland so that they will contribute to the national economy at the end of their study even though research and an on-going tuition fee trial indicate that this would be a damaging decision.
