Iceland to repay its Polish loan


Iceland’s Finance Minister Bjarni Benediktsson has signed an amendment for the early repayment of a €50m loan it took from Poland at the onset of the 2008 financial crisis.

The amendment of the initial loan deal was also signed by Poland’s Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek and Iceland’s Central Bank Governor Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson.
