Hungary’s anti-government group uses social media


Milla (One Million Voices for a Free Press) was founded in Hungary five years ago to protest against the right-wing Fidesz party’s election win. Since then, Prime Minister Vicktor Orban’s idea for an “illiberal” democracy has resulted in state-sponsored censorship of local media.

Since it was set up in 2010, Milla’s main goal has been to promote the “reconstruction of the democratic framework and rule of law as well as the strengthening of civic awareness”.
